Our engineering team was contracted to install an extensive Gabion Retaining wall as part of the prestigious East West Rail Link at Bicester for contractor Buckingham Group Civil Engineering Limited.
With a design and layout that was already determined and approved by Network Rail, we were required to supply and install the Gabion retaining wall to the exact specification requirements, including the basket type, layout and stone size.
The wall extended over a 218m length with a total face area of 763m² and a limestone infill stone volume of over 1500m³ and specialist construction was completed within our clients target programme of 7 weeks.
Our nominated subcontractor also achieved a hand finished appearance to the gabion wall aspect by carefully selecting stone sizes as work progressed despite the fact that we machine placed, increasing build outputs without compromise to the finish.
